Reengage with Israel through the M² lens

Deep Dive Israel

Experience the Pedagogy in Practice

Experience M²’s educational approach in action through values-based encounters that surface conflict and connect values to action, bringing your SEC learning to life within Israel’s dynamic landscape.

Deepen your approach to Israel education

Reexamine what it means to teach about Israel with nuance and integrity by exploring how knowledge, skills, and dispositions shape the way you hold and facilitate complex conversations.

Learn with Israeli peers

Meet educators from  Mabat, M²’s Senior Educators Cohort in Israel, as they lead pioneering initiatives across schools, movements, and civic organizations, demonstrating how M²-trained educators are advancing civic and educational leadership across Israel.

Deep Dive Israel is for SEC alumni living in North America who work full time as Jewish educators and address Israel in their work. We are aiming to assemble a group that spans cohorts, geographies, and sectors in the field.

At this stage, Deep Dive Israel is open to North American alumni, as the learning is tailored to the North American educational and communal landscape. We plan to expand future opportunities for alumni living outside of North America later in 2026.

Due to the highly subsidized nature of the program, financial aid is not available.

The seminar begins at noon on Monday, March 9, and ends at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. If you arrive early, M² will provide a hotel for the night of Sunday, March 8; any other extensions are at your own expense.

M² provides a travel stipend of up to $1,400. You may book your own flight and submit a receipt for reimbursement or use TravelPerk, M²’s partner travel agency. Please note that M² offices will be closed from December 21–January 4 and unable to assist with bookings during that time. Please keep in mind that flight prices may rise after January 4, but the travel stipend cannot exceed $1,400.

We hope to offer additional Deep Dives in 2026. Stay tuned!

Yes. You are welcome to extend your travel to Israel before or after the seminar but are responsible for any costs beyond the $1400 travel stipend.

The seminar is designed as a fully immersive experience with limited free time built into the schedule. If you would like to explore Israel beyond the program, we encourage you to extend your stay before or after the seminar. All sessions and activities during the week are mandatory.

As flights, accommodations, and program costs are secured in advance, the participation fee is nonrefundable.

You will share a Friday evening meal with M² alumni and educators and have the opportunity to attend synagogue services of your choice. Shabbat morning is yours to spend in a way that feels meaningful to you.
