Navigating Complexity and Conflict
Yamim:
Crossroads Israel

How do we teach pride without ignoring pain? How do we model solidarity that comforts and challenges? How can love and critique coexist?

Conversations about Israel have become increasingly complex. Educators and learners alike are searching for the language, confidence, and tools to navigate a topic that can feel emotionally charged and deeply polarizing.
Drawing on M²’s Conflict Pedagogy, educators will explore these questions together and learn how to transform tension and disagreement into meaningful educational opportunities.
Rather than avoiding conflict, participants will practice holding multiple truths, guiding learners through values-based reflection, and designing educational experiences that cultivate curiosity, empathy, and conviction.
Using values-driven scenario cards based on real-world dilemmas, educators will grapple with competing commitments such as belonging and integrity, pride and safety, and empathy and responsibility.
